Holiday season will be off to sweet start

Starting the week of Nov. 22 pick up your Candyland Board Game at participating businesses and enter to win one of three prizes of $100 in Chamber Bucks. Sometime during the two-week period you need to visit all the businesses listed to be eligible to win. The game leads up to the big Tama-Toledo Chamber of Commerce Candyland Christmas on Saturday, Dec. 5. More Candyland Game details can be found on Page 8 and watch upcoming issues of The Chronicle and Tama News-Herald for the annual Holiday Explosion events on Dec. 5.

It is known Santa and Mrs. Claus have scheduled a visit here that day and the popular Lighted Christmas Parade will be part of the festivities.

Businesses taking part in the Candyland game include Medicap, State Farm Insurance, The State Bank of Toledo, Wieting Theatre, JEV?Winery, Premier Estates of Toledo, Rube’s Meat Company, Independent Insurance Services, Shoestring Garden, Toledo Public Library, Hardons, Tama – Grundy Publishing, Scharnweber Water Conditioning, Kids’ Corner Childcare Center, USS?Polaris, Lincoln Savings Bank and Manatts.

Along with the Candyland events, the Wieting Theatre has invited area businesses to put together Holiday Gift Baskets which will be on display at each business.

You can place bids at the individual businesses, at the former Doyle’s Pharmacy store front in downtown Toledo on Nov. 29 and 30, at a Holiday Sip and Shop at JEV?Winery on Dec. 4 and at the Soup Supper at the Toledo Community Building on Dec. 5.

Proceeds from the basket auction will aid in the second phase of the Wieting Theatre renovation.
