Tama City Council members met in a special workshop session for about an hour Monday night to come up with ideas to deal with perceived business building problems.

In the end, they directed Aaron Yuska, city Zoning and Building official, to come up with a list of properties he finds to be a nuisance.

Recent council meetings have brought Ed Hardon, owner of a series of downtown buildings to call for action.

On Monday night, Larry Thomas, Thomas?Co., urged the council to adopt national building codes to use to address some of the issues.

The discussion and possible action is expected to be on the Nov. 2 regular council meeting agenda.
