Rube’s Steakhouse donated $250 to the Montour Fire Department in honor of the Department’s dedication to the community. Rube’s Owner and President Matt Anderson presented the check during the Montour City Council meeting last night, Monday, Oct 5. The donation coincides with Fire Prevention Week.
“Rube’s Steakhouse has been a part of the Montour community for more than 40 years,” Anderson said. “Emergency preparedness is important to the safety of our guests and employees. We want to thank the members of the Fire Department for their service. We know they stand ready to respond should a disaster ever happen.”
Fire Prevention Week runs through Oct. 10. The theme of this year’s educational message is, “Hear the beep where you sleep.” Half of all home fires deaths, according to the National Fire Protection Association, result from fires that happen overnight. That’s why having working smoke alarms in every bedroom is critical.
Anderson said he hopes Rube’s donation will enable the Fire Department to maintainfirefighters’ equipment and training.
