The State Bank of Toledo names new director, asst. vice pres.

At the recent annual stockholders meeting and annual organizational board meeting of The State Bank of Toledo, Richard Ridout retired from his position on the Board of Directors after 32 years of service.

In response to Richard Ridout’s retirement, Kyle Hrabak was appointed to the open director position.

Also at the bank annual meeting, Michele Werner was promoted to Assistant Vice President and Assistant Compliance Officer.

Bank President John Kavalier said, “I want to thank Dick Ridout for his 32 years of dedicated service as member of our bank’s board of directors. His insights as a long-time area businessman were extremely valuable to our bank’s board.

“Meanwhile, I am pleased to have Kyle Hrabak join our board of directors. Kyle has built Hrabak Lumber Company into a successful local business. He will contribute positively to our board with his business experience. Finally, I am proud of Michele Werner’s growth in her career at our bank. She has earned her promotion. I have confidence in her ability to assume the additional responsibilities that will come with her new title.”

Kyle Hrabak is the owner of Hrabak Lumber (est. 1886) and partner to Stein-Hrabak Flooring (est. in 2009), both located in Toledo. Kyle grew up in Chelsea and earned his high school diploma from South Tama in 1994. After high school he decided to forego college to take over the family business. For the past 18 years, Kyle has also been a volunteer for the Chelsea Fire Department. Kyle currently resides in the Chelsea area with his wife, Nichole, and daughters Taylor and Kalla.

Michele Werner was named Assistant Vice President. Formerly Assistant Cashier, Michele joined State Bank of Toledo in 2004, following 12 years of banking experience at Tama State Bank.

Michele’s duties will focus on Lending and Compliance. Michele received her Bachelor’s degree from Buena Vista University with a double Major in Finance and Management /HR and is a 2014 graduate of the Iowa School of Banking. Michele is an active community member through her service as Corresponding Secretary for PEO Chapter E.W. and Religious education teacher at St. Patrick’s Church. She and her husband Eric have two daughters, Hope and Belle.
