Grassley to kick off annual 99-county

Senator Chuck Grassley

U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R- Iowa) will begin holding meetings with Iowans in every county this year starting on Monday, January 9, in Dallas County. Grassley will hold a Q&A with students at Dallas Center-Grimes High School.

Grassley will begin his 43rd year holding meetings in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties. He’s held at least one meeting with Iowans in every county every year since he was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1980.

“Representative government is a two-way street that is strengthened through dialogue between elected officials and the people they represent,” Grassley said. “I look forward to listening to comments and concerns from Iowans and responding directly to their questions.”

During each meeting, Grassley will take questions or comments on any subject, allowing the audience to set the agenda. Grassley will be available for 15 minutes after each meeting to answer questions from local reporters.

Details for further meetings throughout this year will be announced as they are confirmed.
