Toledo Senior Center to honor volunteers

TOLEDO CHRONICLE – Volunteers make communities stronger and better by reaching out to help their neighbors in need. At Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging, volunteers play a vital role in helping to live out our mission of empowering older people to remain independent and in their homes for as long as they desire.

To honor the hundreds of volunteers that help Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging, special recognition events are being held at senior centers in each of the 10 counties served by Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging throughout the month of April. The volunteer appreciation event at the Toledo Senior Center is as follows:

April 14 at noon (lunch)

HVAAA is a private, not-for-profit corporation serving elders in Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Chickasaw, Grundy, Hardin, Marshall, Poweshiek and Tama counties. HVAAA coordinates services for people ages 60 and older and their caregivers to maintain the independence they desire. Some of the services provided by HVAAA include home delivered meals, caregiver support and respite services, case management services, congregate meals, public information and education, Senior Helpline, and advocacy.
