Arrest Report – Tama County Jail

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Dec. 24

Marchez Lyndell Baldon, 27, of Brunswick, GA was arrested by Toledo Police for possession of a controlled substance. Baldon was released the same day on bond.

Malachi King Baldon, 28, of Brunswick, GA was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI (1st offense), speeding and reckless driving. Baldon was released the same day on his own recognizance.

William Joseph Sisco, 76, of Toledo was arrested by Toledo Police on a warrant for going armed with intent, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, 1st degree harassment and 5th degree criminal mischief. Sisco was released the same day on his own recognizance.

Dec. 25

Justin Dean Prince, 38, of Toledo was arrested by Meskwaki Police on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance. Prince was released on Dec. 26 on his own recognizance.

Dec. 27

Scott Lawrence Reavis, 58, of Dunkerton was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for 2nd degree harassment, trespassing (1st offense) and for stalking while in violation of a protective order.

William Mitchell Jones, 41, of Traer was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for violation of a no contact order. Jones is in custody at the Tama County Jail under a $50,000 bond.

Noah Drew Van De Walle, 18, of Tama was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI (1st offense), reckless driving and for operating a vehicle with a defective or unauthorized muffler system.

Kristen Lynn Arp, 55, of Tama was arrested by Tama Police on a warrant for violation of a no contact order. Arp was released on Dec. 28 on bond.

Dec. 28

Erica Lynn Velez, 30, was arrested by Toledo Police on a warrant for OWI (1st offense). Velez was released the same day on bond.

Dec. 30

William Mitchell Jones, 41, of Traer was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for violating conditions of a pretrial release agreement.

Leigha Irene Welch, 29, of Toledo was arrested by Toledo Police for violation of parole.

Dec. 31

Cody John Kelso, 33, of Montezuma was arrested by Meskwaki Police for two counts of possession of a controlled substance, controlled substance violation, unlawful prescription drug possession and for possession of a dangerous weapon used in a crime.

Dustin Lee Carmer, 36, of Grinnell was arrested by Meskwaki Police for two counts of possession of a controlled substance and a controlled substance violation. Carmer was released the same day on his own recognizance.

COURT NEWS

William Mitchel Jones, 42, of rural Traer entered a plea of not guilty on Dec. 27, 2021, in district court to three counts of violation of no contact/protective order-contempt, a simple misdemeanor. On three separate occasions, 12/20/21, 12/21/21, and 12/22/21, Jones is alleged to have contacted the victim via telephone approximately 41 times in total across the three dates according to criminal complaints. Jones allegedly used a cell phone to call or receive calls from the victim. Violations of the no contact order were discovered during a signed search warrant execution on the defendant’s cell phone. Jones was taken into custody and jailed by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office. A non-jury trial is set for Feb. 22, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. Jones and the victim are also currently awaiting trial on a separate incident which took place on Oct. 28, 2021, in rural Elberon. As a result of the Oct. 28 incident, Jones was charged with two counts of robbery 1st degree (Class B felony), one county burglary 1st degree (Class B felony), one count going armed with intent (Class D felony), one count assault while displaying a dangerous weapon (aggravated misdemeanor), and one count willful injury-causing bodily injury (Class D felony). Jones entered a plea of not guilty to the previous charges. A trial is still set for Jan. 31, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. in the previous case. A bond forfeiture hearing is scheduled for Jan. 6, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. Jones is listed as a habitual offender as a result of having two prior felony convictions.
