Arrest Report – Tama County Jail

December 18-22, 2021

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Dec. 18

Terie Singemasa, 40, of Garwin was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for domestic assault and child endangerment. Singemasa was released on Dec. 19 on her own recognizance.

Derek J. Hutchinson, 32, of Tama was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for driving while having a license denied/revoked (OWI), failure to maintain control of a vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident and violation of proof of motor vehicle security against liability.

Ashley Ruth Johnson, 39, of Toledo was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI (2nd offense), driving under suspension and driving while a license is revoked (OWI). Johnson was released on Dec. 19 on conditions of a pre-trial release.

Dec. 19

Juliet Clarice Morgan, 58, of Tama was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI (2nd offense), driving without a valid drivers license and driving with improper rear lamps. Morgan was released the same day on conditions of a pre-trial release.

Athena Caitlyn Ione Padilla, 22, of Toledo was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for failure to appear in court and for violation of probation.

Jason Michael Howell, 47, of Gladbrook was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for assault causing bodily injury. Howell was released the same day.

Dec. 20

Henry Alfred Segovia, 39, of Marshalltown was arrested by Toledo Police on a warrant for two counts of domestic abuse assault.

Dawson Kyle Davenport, 41, of Tama was arrested by Meskwaki Police for violation of probation. Davenport was released the same day on bond.

A juvenile was arrested by Tama Police for assault causing bodily injury and for child endangerment.

Dec. 21

Keri Ann Kopriva, 41, of Elberon was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for OWI (1st offense), possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia. Kopriva was released the same day on her own recognizance.

Dec. 22

Keri Ann Kopriva, 41, of Elberon was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for driving while barred and for speeding. Kopriva was released the same day on bond.

William Mitchell Jones, 41, of Traer was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for 2nd degree theft.

Butoyi Patiance, 23, of Des Moines was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for violation of sex offender registry regulations (1st offense).

Jacob Daniel Gassman, 33, of Bernard was arrested by Tama Police for OWI (2nd offense). Gassman was released on Dec. 23 on his own recognizance.

James Aaron Kelly, 47, of Central City was arrested by Tama Police for OWI (1st offense). Kelly was released on Dec. 23 on his own recognizance.

COURT NEWS

Henry Alfred Segovia, 39, of Tama made an initial appearance in custody in district court on Dec. 20. Segovia is charged with two counts of domestic assault-3rd degree or subsequent offense (Class D felony) stemming from an incident that took place on Sept. 27 at the defendant’s Tama residence. Segovia allegedly committed a domestic assault against the victim with whom he was in an intimate relationship at the time of the incident. Segovia allegedly punched the victim in the stomach, kicked the victim in the calf, hip, buttocks and head, and hit the victim across the face causing pain and bruising, according to the criminal complaints. Segovia has prior convictions for domestic abuse assault. Segovia was ordered to have no contact with the victim in the case and was held on a cash only $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing was set for Dec. 28 at 9:00 a.m. Segovia is being represented by attorney Fred Stiefel of Victor.

Scott Lawrence Reavis, 58, of Dunkerton made an initial appearance in custody in district court on Dec. 27. Reavis is charged with one count of stalking-violation of protective order (Class D felony) and one count of harassment-2nd degree (serious misdemeanor) stemming from multiple incidents that took place on Oct. 27, 2021, Nov. 5, 2021, and Nov. 18, 2021, at the victim’s Tama County property. Reavis and the victim have a no contact order currently in effect that was issued through Tama County Courts on Sept. 7, 2021, as part of a previous, ongoing case. Reavis allegedly violated the no contact order by showing up to the victim’s Traer address while the victim was present. Reavis is further alleged to have left the victim threatening messages. Reavis was ordered held on a cash only $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing was set for Jan. 4, 2022, at 9:00 a.m.
