Arrest Report – Tama County Jail

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Dec. 10

Elijah Frank Griffith, 21, of Grinnell was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for violating conditions of a pretrial release. Griffith was released the same day on bond.

Ethan Lanz Kapayou, 24, of Tama was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for OWI (2nd offense), possession of a controlled substance, driving under suspension and failure to maintain control. Kapayou was released the same day on bond.

Jesse Lee Mapes, 29, of Tama was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for failure to appear in court and for violation of probation.

Dec. 11

Desseri Dawn Williams, 40, of Searsboro was arrested by Meskwaki Police for third degree theft and for possession of a controlled substance. Williams was released the same day on conditions of a pretrial release.

Dec. 12

Mario Edenilson Salguero Axume, 22, of Waterloo was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for OWI (1st offense), possession of drug paraphernalia, and for driving without a valid drivers license.

Bruce Sanford, 30, of Waterloo was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for driving while having a license that is denied or revoked (OWI). Sanford was released the same day on bond.

Dec. 13

Virginia Maureen Joy, 30, of Tama was arrested by Meskwaki Police for fifth degree theft and for driving under suspension.

Ryan Daniel VanRees, 34, of Toledo was arrested by Meskwaki Police for violation of probation.

Slayne Matthew Rayman, 39, of Elberon was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for violation of probation. Rayman was released on bond on Dec. 14.

Sanday Elizabeth Basham, 31, of Stanwood was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI (1st offense) and for carrying a weapon while intoxicated. Basham was released on Dec. 14 on conditions of a pretrial release.

Dec. 14

Osman Suleman Wodede, 21, of Des Moines was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI (1st offense), possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension, failure to provide proof of financial liability, operating a non-registered vehicle and driving with a suspended license. Wodede was released on Dec. 15 on his own recognizance.

Dec. 15

Brycelyn Natasha Haughey, 22, of Toledo was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office on four counts of sexual exploitation by a school employee and one count of exhibiting obscene material to a minor.

Dec. 16

Kaylor Kyle Phillips, 30, of Tama was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for failure to appear in court.

Heather Christine Adams, 41, of Tama was arrested by Tama Police on a warrant. Adams was released on bond on Dec. 17.

Kiedis Dayton Old Bear, 29, of Tama was arrested by Meskwaki Police on a warrant. Old Bear was released on Dec. 17.

Brent Anthony Baxter, 33, of Cedar Falls was arrested by Meskwaki Police for possession of a controlled substance, driving under suspension and for failing to obey a stop sign/yield sign. Baxter was released on Dec. 17.

Anthony Ray Arp, 37, of Toledo was arrested by Toledo Police on a warrant for failure to appear in court.

Dec. 17

Samantha Marie Roeder, 31, of Toledo was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for driving while barred.

COURT NEWS

Jalen Travon Jackson of Cedar Rapids entered a guilty plea was sentenced in Tama County District Court on Dec. 13 after reversing a prior not guilty plea following charges stemming from a traffic stop on Highway 30 on May 29, 2021. Jackson originally was charged with a possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (marijuana), neglect/abandonment of a dependent person, control of a firearm by a domestic abuse offender, keeping a vehicle for controlled substance violation, OWI (1st offense), possession of a dangerous weapon while under the influence, possession of a controlled substance and child endangerment. A District Court judge sentenced Jackson on four of the eight counts with the court dismissing four lesser charges. Jackson will serve supervised probation through the Department of Corrections and will be required to serve 365 days in a residential correctional facility.

Jason Randall Himschoot of Buckingham entered a guilty plea and was sentenced in Tama County District Court on Dec. 9 after originally pleading not guilty to a charge of failure to comply with sex offender registry requirements in August 2021. On Aug. 5, 2021 Himschoot was found loitering in the North Tama School parking lot speaking to kids. Himschoot was previously convicted 3rd degree sexual abuse in 2005 and indecent exposure in 2018. The presiding District Court judge sentenced Himschoot to supervised probation through December 2023 as well as an $855 fine.
