Former Lottery Employee Charged After Investigation

Webster County, IOWA — Iowa Lottery staff procedures recently identified a discrepancy in records involving some lottery retail locations in north central Iowa. The Lottery’s Division of Security was immediately notified and conducted an internal review, then provided information to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and requested a criminal investigation into the matter.

As a result of the criminal investigation, former lottery employee, Toni Hammer of Alta, Iowa, has been charged in Webster County with the following:

7 Counts of Lottery Fraud, Class D Felonies

1 Count of Tampering with Records, Aggravated Misdemeanor
