MARSHALLTOWN (SPECIAL) – Students enrolled in the spring semester Drawing I & II, and Sculpture I & II, taught by Associate Professor of Art Tim Castle, will exhibit their work during the Student Art Show beginning Wednesday, April 6 through Monday, April 18 in the Ray Frederick Gallery, Room 306, on the Marshalltown Community College Campus, 3700 S. Center St., Marshalltown. The Gallery is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and the public is always welcome.

The MCC Student Shows are some of the most popular exhibits on campus because they offer such a variety of talent. The work of nearly 30 individuals will be on display and although they may have had the same assignment, each student brings his/her own interpretation to the project. It is always amazing to see the creativity and inspiration that takes shape from the clay or on the board.

“Visitors will see a wide range of artwork ranging from the expressive to the finely detailed, with some very interesting viewpoints on show,” says instructor Tim Castle. “And we’re excited that the exhibit’s first day will coincide with the annual Job Fair, too.”

Included in the exhibit will be Graphic Arts’ projects by students of MCC adjunct instructor Paul Smiley-Oyen.

The community is invited to visit the Ray Frederick Gallery on the MCC campus in Marshalltown weekdays beginning April 6-18. For more information about the Gallery, contact Tim Castle at 641-844-5776 or 866-622-4748.
