Library of Congress traveling exhibition coming Friday to Grinnell

tamatoledonews.com – (WASHINGTON – SPECIAL) Senator Chuck Grassley received information from the Library of Congress regarding traveling exhibition stops in Iowa. The Library of Congress’s Traveling Exhibition will include tops at Grinnell and Cedar Falls.

Visitors can tour several areas of museum styled exhibits organized along Thomas Jefferson’s theme of “Memory, Reason, and Imagination.” The exhibits include facsimiles of Library treasures, including the Declaration of Independence, the first document to use the word “America,” the 1455 Guttenberg Bible, Walt Whitman’s “Leaves of Grass,” and much more. There will also be computer terminals with interactive displays and Library information.

The traveling exhibition was made possible by a $1 million private donation; no tax dollars were used to fund this project.
