Iowa DOT: Avoid traffic delays and enjoy the Iowa Farm Progress Show

AMES (SPECIAL) – The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) and organizers of the Iowa Farm Progress Show have identified the best traffic routes for getting into this year’s show. The show will be held Aug. 31 through Sept. 2, 2010, at its permanent biennial site east of Boone.

The Farm Progress Show is the largest outdoor farm show in the United States. It presents farmers and ranchers from across the country and around the world with the latest information on machinery, and agricultural products and services.

The Iowa DOT’s planned reopening of Iowa 17 between Granger and Madrid this Friday, Aug. 27, will help traffic flow smoother into the show next week. The road is currently closed for replacement of the deck on and other improvements to the Des Moines River bridge.

To prevent traffic delays, the Iowa DOT is recommending the following preferred traffic routes. For a local map of access to the site, visit: www.farmprogressshow.com/customPage.aspx?p=197
