A tour of local conservation practices will be held on Thursday, June 24. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. from the North Tama Activity Center, 212 N. Main Street, Traer. It will conclude with refreshments at the Activity Center.

Participants will be asked to car pool.

Conservation practices on the tour will include grassed waterways, cover crops, conservation tillage, wetland restoration, prairie restoration, farmstead windbreaks, stream buffers and grade stabilization structures.

This event is free and open to the public. Men and women with an interest in land and/or agriculture are welcome to attend. In case of rain, the event will be held indoors.

This event is being co-sponsored by the Union Grove Lake Watershed Project and Tama County Women, Land & Legacy.
