IVCCD Board of Directors to meet June 9 in Grinnell
GRINNELL – The Iowa Valley Community College District Board of Directors will meet on Wednesday, June 9, 4 p.m., at Iowa Valley Community College Grinnell, 123 6th Avenue West, Grinnell. The meeting is open to the public.
The Board will address a number of action items as the District’s academic year end approaches. Revised board policies regarding the Chancellor’s functions and the District’s vision statement will be presented for approval. Approval of the substantial completion of the Agricultural Business Incubator Building, Phase I at Marshalltown Community College is requested; as is a request for Haila Architecture to proceed with specific drawings for Phase I student housing unit at Ellsworth Community College. A housing rate increase of 3.8% is proposed for ECC’s 2010-2011 academic year.
Several agenda items address summer repair work proposed on the MCC campus. Quotations for replacement of doors on campus, repair of the south parking lot, and roof replacement over the MCC Library will all be considered. Also at MCC, approval for cash farm leases of plots to four students/community members who use organic methods is requested; and an agreement with McFarland Clinic, P.C. for Athletic Trainer Services to be offered at MCC for the athletic training program courses, as has been provided to ECC.
Other items to be addressed include fee changes for specific courses; an agreement with the City of Eldora for construction of a residential dwelling as part of Eldora’s Federal Neighborhood Stabilization grant and the ECC carpentry program; an amendment to the GED Services Contract with the Iowa Department of Human Services; an amendment to an agreement with Marshall County for the Career Development Program; and contracts to provide college level instruction with Aplington-Parkersburg Community School District and South Tama Community School District.
The board will consider a request to increase salary for all non-union IVCCD employees for 2010-2011.
The board will also go into closed session to discuss the purchase of real estate.
