Lillian Emily Wrede Havran

TOLEDO-Lillian Emily Wrede Havran, 93, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Premier Estates of Toledo. A Memorial Mass will be held at a future date at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with burial at the Garwin Cemetery.

Lillian was born on December 19, 1926, in Tama County, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Emily (Adamek) Votrobeck.

She graduated from Toledo High School in 1943.

Lillian married Royal Wrede at St. Boniface Church in Garwin, Iowa in 1944. They farmed all their married life in the Garwin area. Royal passed away in October of 1978. Besides helping on the farm, she also worked at Dunham and Bush in Marshalltown, Garwin School as a Secretary to the Superintendent, the Garwin Bank, and Carl’s Electric. In 1987, she married Lester Havran. They spent nineteen years wintering in Texas due to Lester’s health. Lester passed away in August of 2013. Lillian stayed living at the Independent Living Apartments of Premier Estates of Toledo.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn (Jack) Walker of Toledo; her son, Bill Wrede Marshalltown and special friend Susan Hughes of Tama; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; one sister, Leona Cecak; one sister-in-law, Loryane Votrobeck; two stepsons, Dick (Laura) Havran, and Randy (Roleen) Havran; five step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Royal and Lester; one brother, George Votrobeck; one brother-in-law, John Cecak; and one step-grandson.

A memorial fund will be established.
