HUDSON — It was a perfect night for track and field on Thursday, April 16, and the STC boys had, perhaps, their best performance of the season. Traveling to Hudson for the Hudson Relays, the Trojans took fourth place out of a loaded 17-team field, and were led by several solid individual and relay performances.

The distance runners led the way for STC, gaining wins in both the 1600 and 3200 races. Senior Barret Jesina secured the first win in the 3200 (10:22.26), followed by senior Cadel Conner winning the 1600 (4:25.41). Jesina also finished in third place in the 1600, with a time of 4:41.05. The Trojans also gained a second place finish from junior Josiah Houghton in the 400 hurdles when he ran a time of 57.49. And STC gained two top-ten placers in the 800: sophomore Brady Jesina (fifth, 2:08.79) and senior Carver Cecak (seventh, 2:13.46).

Senior Timmothy Chandonia earned two top-five finishes for STC when he finished in third place in the discus (140’5″) and fifth place in the shot put (43’1″).

In relay action, the Trojans secured two teams in the top-five. The Distance Medley team of freshman Jet Chyma, freshman Mason Witt, Cecak, and sophomore Henri Martinez-Alvarado finished in 2nd place with a time of 3:56.13. The final race of the night saw the 4×400 team of sophomore Izak Schroeder, Brady Jesina, sophomore Ryan Brant, and Houghton finish in 4th place (3:37.73).
