Wartburg’s Tyynismaa qualifies for NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in four events
WAVERLY — Wartburg College sprinter and hurdler JoJo Tyynismaa has qualified for the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships in four events, earning a place among the nation’s top competitors in multiple disciplines.
Tyynismaa qualified individually in the 60-meter dash, 60-meter hurdles, 200 meters, and will also compete as part of Wartburg’s 4×400-meter relay team.
Earlier this season, Tyynismaa delivered a dominant performance at the American Rivers Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, winning four conference titles in the same events she has qualified in.
The NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships will take place March 13-14 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama.
The 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships will be streamed live for free through the NCAA’s official online broadcast coverage.
Tyynismaa is scheduled to compete in the 60-meter hurdles preliminary round at 12:30 p.m. (Central Time) on Friday, March 13, followed by the 60-meter dash preliminary round at 1:00 p.m. Later in the day, Tyynismaa will run the 200-meter preliminary round at 3:15 p.m.
If Tyynismaa advances, finals are scheduled throughout the day on Saturday, March 14.
