South Tama senior (2019) midfielder Jonathan Castrejon was awarded as a First Team All-State selection in Class 1A by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association.

The senior midfielder was also named to the Des Moines Register’s Class 1A All-Iowa Team and on Saturday, June 29 had the opportunity to play in the IAHSSCA East vs. West Boys Senior All-Star Game at Drake Stadium. Castrejon played for the East team who took a 2-1 loss to the West in a sweltering, sun-drenched afternoon of soccer. Other post-season accolades have included being named to the All WaMaC Conference First Team and the WaMaC West Player of the Year.

Castrejon finished as a top-three scorer in the State during a senior campaign that brought the Trojans to within a game of the State Tournament. He leaves behind a pair of school records for goals in a season (40) and goals in a single game (6).
