The second meeting between the South Tama Trojans and PCM Mustangs looked quite a bit like the first. South Tama hosted PCM for Round 1 of Class 3A Regional basketball on Saturday, Feb. 10. The Trojans topped PCM 45-34.
The two teams got a preview of each other earlier in the season. STC visited PCM for a non-conference girl/boy double header. That contest resulted in a 59-34 win for the Trojans.
Saturday’s contest was quite similar to their first meeting. Both teams struggled some with ball control. Also PCM could not find an answer to South Tama’s leading scorer, Jessica Musgrave.
Jessica Musgrave led the Trojans with 24 points and PCM’s Cameron Wignall led the Mustangs with 14 points, going 4-6 from the three point line.
The Trojans will now move on to Round 2 of Regional play. STC will travel to Story City on Wednesday, Feb. 14 to face Class 3A No. 6 ranked Roland-Story (20-2). Roland-Story defeated South Hardin on Saturday, Feb. 10 to move on to Round 2.
