Meskwaki Warriors open season 2-0

The Meskwaki Warriors started their season against the Cal Cadets on Monday night. Jarius Bear and Tate Bear were the leading scorers, both with 17 points. Tate Bear also led the team with 13 boards. The Warriors held Cal to just 10 points at half while the Warriors had 30. The Warriors gave up more defensively in the second half, but were still able to outscore CAL to take a 61-27 victory to open the season 1-0.
The Warriors were back in action a night later with another home game against North Tama. Once again, the Warriors jumped out to an early lead with a 20-5 advantage to end the first quarter, and a 30-15 lead at half. The second half was a tighter, but North Tama was never able to close the lead and the Warriors advanced to 2-0 with a 56-38 victory. Tate Bear led all scorers with 22 points and 8 rebounds while Jarius Bear added 19 of his own. Emmett Roberts was the leading assist man with 4 while also scoring 9 points.
