Tama County Humane Society Dog Jog

The Tama County Humane Society hosted their 3rd annual Dog Jog 5K on Saturday, August 12.
The event has been coordinated each year by Sarah Murphy. This year the event was held at Otter Creek Lake and Park. Several alumni were on hand to participate in the race. Also present were a couple of dogs and four puppies which were all available for adoption on race day.
TCHS is a non-profit organization with a committed Board of Directors and many area volunteers. They are dedicated to providing an animal rescue center for dogs, cats, and small animals who are homeless for many reasons. Each animal is examined and given appropriate shots and medicine and are spayed or neutered before adoption. They are open Monday – Saturday from 7 a.m. – 11 a.m.
