The game started at 4:30 with Abby Llewellyn in goal. Defensive line was Olivia Terrones, Emily Terrones, Alexis Riha, and Savanna Lopez. Midfield starters were Taylor Hrabak, Keely Driscoll, Jaelin Berger, and Sadie Smith. Forwards were Abby Ryan and Estrella Castellanos.

The game started under cloudy skies at 4:30. CP-U had the opening kickoff, and the game was on. CP-U put the pressure on the ST/EM right off the bat, and on this evening, kept it up all game. CP-U scored at the 5 minute mark for a early 1-0 lead. ST/EM tried to fight back on this evening, but CP-U kept on the pressure. At the 9 minute mark, CP-U increased their lead to 2-0. It was a hard shot that Abby knocked up into the air, but unfortunately it landed behind Abby, and had enough spin to get into the goal. At the 14 minute mark, there was a hard shot that was stopped, but not cleared cleanly, and CP-U got a foot on it for a 3-0 lead. At the 24 minute mark, ST/EM was called for a hand ball in the box, but Abby stopped the PK, and the lead stayed 3-0. At the 30 minute mark, ST/EM had a free kick from 40 yards out. Taylor served it up, but ST/EM could not get a body on it, and the opportunity was gone. At the 33 minute mark, CP-U got another goal for a 4-0 lead, and that is the way the half ended.

The second half found ST/EM playing harder, but could not generate a score. The game was played on the ST/EM end, but ST/EM continued to play hard. CP-U worked hard as well, but could not get another goal until the 76 minute for a 5-0 score. And this is the way the game ended. ST/EM played a lot better in the second half, but just could not find a good rhythm on this evening. Ariana Avila, Aleks Beha, Esmeralda DeLaTorre, Haley Dunning, Analea Ordaz, Autumn Papakee, Azra Papakee, Salma Razak and Mallory Thede all saw action on this evening. Azra Papakee played the second half in defense as Alexis went out with a minor injury.

This was a tough game for the ST/EM team, but again, this team will continue to grow. ST/EM won their share of free balls, but need to improve first touch control. And need to communicate better. This will be worked on, and ST/EM faces Marion on Friday at home at 4:30 contest.
