The environment was overcast but the spirits of the STC Girls Track and Field Team were anything but. The Trojans ran away with a first-place win (143 points) in their first home meet of the season. STC hosted Benton, BCLUW, Columbus Catholic, East Marshall, GMG and Newton for the STC Early Bird meet.

The Trojans nearly cleaned house in the field competition with first place finishes by Sabrina Holtz in the shot and discus and a first-place finish in the high jump from Stacey Slaven. Shae Slaven went on to take 2nd in the long jump. Slaven had a lot to celebrate Tuesday as she took first place in the 100M Dash and it was also her birthday! In relay events the Trojans saw first place finishes in the sprint medley and distance medley. Twin sisters Lauren and Allison Yuska, each brought in a first-place finish, Lauren in the 100 M Hurdles and Allison in the 400 M Hurdles. For Allison, the first place finish in the 400 M Hurdles was also a meet record. Lastly, senior distance runner Jensen Vodochodsky killed it with two first place finishes, one in the 800 as well as in the 1500 M Run.
