Folks, I know it’s just the beginning of February but once we make it through the next 28 days, we’ll be “springing” into March and will finally be able to say we survived the winter of 25/26. Or at least we can at least see the end of winter, can’t we? All we have to do is get through February and I am here to help you just do that. Let’s be like the little train…..”I think I can, I think I can.” And before you know it, we’ll be able to “smell” spring. And once March is here, we know by accounts, that April is only a month away.

But we just gotta get through February and we have a lot of special days to help us get through the next 28 days. We just passed Ground Hog’s day, (and what fun that was), we have the Super Bowl on February 9, (Go Seahawks), Valentine’s Day is Feb. 14, President’s Day is Feb. 16, Ash Wednesday is the 18th, (so what are ya giving up for Lent) and I bet all of you gardeners have already received your seed catalogues for the coming season.

However, here are a few other dates you can mark down so as to enjoy February even more: but before we begin, which of these four flowers is considered to be the “official flower” of February? The carnation, dandylion, rose or the violet? Hmmmmm!

February 6th is Pay Someone a Compliment Day.

February 9th is National Pizza Day

February 10th is International Cribbage Day. Any cribbage players out there?

February 13th is Do You Want To Change Your Name Day? What new name would you give yourself?

February 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day, (also called “John Sheda” day).

February 19th is National “Hickey” Day. Nope, not going there!!!!

February 20th is No Talking Politics Day.

February 22nd is International Forgiveness Day. “Come on Bruce, apologize to me.” You can do it!

February 25th is How About Trying to Eat Right Day? Maybe a “Kale Sandwich?”

February 25th is also everyone wear a Pink Shirt Day.

And last but not least, February 26 is World-Wide “Chili” Day!!

So now we can get through February. Once March is here, then it’s only another 30 days before the April showers bring those May flowers. We just have to make it through these next 28 days.
