You’ll Figure It Out: A nice little quiz!

John Sheda.
I’m not sure at all about this but If I were to hazard a guess, (which I’m doing), most readers of newspapers, (Tama/Toledo News included), are older than fifty. What do you think? Today you are being presented with a quiz just for the heck of it. No other reason. If you are older than fifty or maybe even sixty, you will remember each question although you probably won’t remember all the answers. If you’re under forty, you will have no idea of the answers. Here’s your quiz:
1. After the Lone Ranger saved the day & rode off into the sunset, he always left something behind. What was that?
2. What year did the Beatles first come to the US and what TV show did they first appear on?
3. First it was the twist, then the mashed potato and next the Watusi. Then we sashayed under a stick that was lowered to see just how low we could go. What was this dance called?
4. Who knows what lurks in the heart of men. Only the _______ knows.
5. In 1971, Don McLean sang a song about the “day the music died.” Who did McLean pay tribute to?
6. One of the huge fads of the 50’s and 60’s was a large round plastic ring that we whirled around our waist, (or at least tried to). What was that?
7. “Hey kids. What time is it? Why, it’s ______ _______ time.
8. There is something in the world that takes a licking but keeps on ticking. What was that?
9. “In the jungle, the mighty jungle,” what happens next?
10. Red Skelton’s hobo character was called __________ and he always ended his TV show by saying what?
There you have it. Ten fairly simple questions. For extra credit here’s a couple old cigarette commercial slogans, (you do remember cigarette commercials, don’t ya): I’d rather fight than switch _________; I’d walk a mile for a _________: It tastes good like a cigarette should.____________: and finally LSMFT means ____________________. Call me at 319.327.4640 or email me at johndebsheda@gmail.com and tell me how well you did. Ok?
