Just Jonathan: My guide to school

Jonathan Meyer.

By now most everyone is back in the classroom, no matter if you’re a great student or trying to be a great student, these tips are for you. Following these five steps will put you on the right track. Take notes if you must, here we go!

Arrive early

Being on time is such a simple way to get ahead in life. An action so small can have a ripple effect throughout your relationships and public perception. Be the first one to show up and the last one to leave, simple as that. I’d recommend taking this concept to the extreme! Most people say be 5-10 minutes early, this is not good enough. Be at least 45 minutes early to class, your perception depends on it.

Seat selection

With your early arrival, always pick the back row! The furthest position from the teacher or professor gives you plenty of leeway to mutter obscenities and curse words from the back of the room. Perfect for any incompetence in your classmates or heaven forbid your educator. Have space to say what you want!

Utilization of utensils

One of the most crucial decisions in your academic life has stood the test of time, what am I going to write with? In any educational situation you want to protrude confidence and appear bold, that’s why I recommend writing in pen or marker. No one will doubt the person bold enough to write in bold black ink. Show the world that you simply won’t make mistakes. Rise above “big pencil” and use something permanent.

Dress for success

So many students nowadays choose to wear sweatpants, hoodies, shorts, crop tops, and many other lousy clothing choices. If you want to be top of your class, rise above modern day fashion and trends. Be undeniably the best dressed every single day. I would recommend at least a three piece suit and freshly shined shoes, for the ladies a ball gown would do the trick. To be the best you have to start by looking the best.

Challenge your peers

As you start to establish yourself as a confident, well dressed, and intelligently placed student, the next step is to start crushing the dreams of your fellow students. Sow seeds of doubt into your peers, question their work and rebut anything they may present. Intelligence isn’t always popular! Instead of thinking of your own answers and ideas, be on your toes with ideas of how everyone else is wrong. Remember: You don’t need to be right, everyone else needs to be wrong!

Final remarks

Obviously following these suggestions is not very difficult. Implement my ideas and you will be on the right track, A’s for days! Remember: Arrive early, sit in the back, bold is better, dress for success, and crush dreams. Have a great school year everyone!
