Just Jonathan: Summer Camp
I never did the stereotypical summer camp that gets idolized in our media. Imagine the pristine lakes and beautiful cabins, everything at those summer camps are wonderful and perfect for advertising. Maybe young people experienced these camps for team building or bible camps, maybe even a retreat with their family.
To add some context here, my chance to be at a summer camp has come around! Being a part of the Wartburg cross country team we take a yearly out of state trip to a summer camp. I’m proud to be able to share the tradition of excellence with men and women who enjoy running and hold a common bond with myself.
Aside from just being grateful to experience a camp, I’m ready to make lifelong memories. Those are what you are going to remember.
Now I won’t share with you everything that happened at camp because as they say, what happens at camp stays at camp. However you can put two and two together, we did a lot of running and plenty of core workouts.
I have an 80 minute run on deck so I’ll leave you with this: do what you love and the experiences will follow.
