Pastor’s Corner: Deep sleep states!
Recently, I took the bait and bought a techy device: a fan-light device that screws into an existing light socket and operates with a remote. It works slick! I’ve got it on right now and the fan is running on slow speed, and that’s because I discovered that if I run it on top speed, it can get into a crazy rockin’ swing above my head. That makes me nervous, because I figure if that thing propels off the socket, well…I may have no use for the barbershop for a while.
But there’s some wild tech devices out, like the “chill pill” for those who have difficulty going to sleep at night. It says it balances your brain’s neurochemicals by delivering pulses of low-intensity currents to your body. I’ve already gotten shocked going to bed before, so I’ll pass on this one.
Speaking of sleep, there’s the “sleep mask” that boasts knocking you out in 15 minutes or less. They say the astronauts are using it to nap in space, so it’s certainly good enough for you (their opinion, of course).
One thing is for sure: God doesn’t sleep! Got problems? Take them to Him in prayer. No chill pill, shock therapy, or swinging light sockets where He is. And for that, we’re all grateful!
