Clouded vision?

Pastor Mike Nodland of the Christian Fellowship Church in Vining, IA.

In college, I sat behind a girl in speech class who was blind. She aced the tests and assigned speeches. I thought it was unfair because she didn’t have everyone staring when you’d forget one of your main points or drop your note cards; and worse yet, when you compounded your humiliation by stumbling over someone’s chair on the way back to your seat.

But I read the remarkable story of Craig Lundberg, a former British soldier stationed in Iraq in 2007. A rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) struck and left him totally blind in one eye and removal of the other eye. An experiment-stage “BrainPort” enabled him to wear video camera sunglasses which sent messages by electrical pulses to a special device on his tongue. Scientists cannot explain it, but somehow the signals on Craig’s tongue triggered a portion of his brain which processes our sense of touch. With this innovative technology, he could now identify shapes, pick things up without fumbling around, and the device has enabled him to read once again!

We take our physical sight for granted, but do we take our spiritual sight for granted, too? Some have spiritual blindness. They cannot see that Jesus genuinely loves and forgives them, because they have a clouded vision of Him. Uncloud your vision and trust Him today!
