Well, that’s right neighborly!
Pastor Mike Nodland of the Christian Fellowship Church in Vining, IA.
I love my neighbors — they’re the spice of life…they’re helpful, encouraging and most of all, downright entertaining! They make for lol!
My neighbor in DeWitt believed his property line went through our backyard even after having it surveyed. Since he loved mowing (daily!), he kept our backyard looking like a putting green.
In Toledo, Ohio, we lived next door to a family of a kid who often ran about with a steak knife for who knows why! Sitting and enjoying a warm summer evening on our porch, a sudden crash alerted us to the fact that the neighbor’s window air conditioner fell out the window and dropped outside, but not to disturb the oldest son practicing his judo on their garage floor with old mattresses!
And there’s my neighbor who asked me if I knew why he had his sofa lying down on their front porch with a two-by-four propped up to the porch roof. Hesitant to know why, he voluntarily told me anyway that his porch roof was falling down, and the two-by-four was too short, so he stuck his sofa underneath to keep the roof up!
It gives new meaning to Jesus’ words, “Love thy neighbor…” I love them! They’ve always got my back covered. And Jesus? He’s got my future covered! How about yours?
