Years ago, my mother-in-law went on a Christmas cookie-baking binge, making cookie plates for those needing cheering up at Christmastime. But she waited until Christmas eve to embark on this noble task as a major snowstorm blew in town.

Hurrying to finish the project, she gave me the plates to deliver! What could I do but load the car with the cookies, squeeze in my wife and sister, clutching a long list of addresses and begin the delivery process?

Things went smoothly, but the weather got worst and the roads more difficult to navigate as darkness descended. One plate left, and it was for the paperboy, but we couldn’t find his house. Driving up and down streets, they became impassable. Desperate to find his house, we fought to give up; but we finally had to stop.

Tired, we looked at that last plate of cookies. Yup, we ate ’em! Delicious, fresh cookies…good to the last crumb, but then the guilt set in! The poor paperboy! Those cookies became the worst cookies in the world!

Worse yet, we are guilty of our sins, but God gave us a remedy: His Only Begotten Son. Taste and see that the LORD is good! Trust Him today!
