“What The World Needs Now…”

Rev. Mike Nodland

Remember that song from decades ago? It suggested that the world needs love, and that’s true. Among other things, might the world need prayer, too? I like the saying, “He who kneels before God can stand up to anything!” If nothing else, these present days have taught us that there are many things beyond our controlno matter how hard we try to control them. Either we rely upon Someone outside of ourselves, or we rely upon ourselves. And we know that the latter never has proven to work out well.

This virus has got everyone looking behind their shoulders, so to speak. Folks in grocery stores treat you suspect, and social distancing challenges the core nature of normal human relations.

May I suggest what the world really needs now? Certainly, love and prayer are key starting points. How about non-sheltering exercises? Like

– “Suffering from truth decay? Brush up on your Bible!”

-“Exercise dailywalk with God!”

– “Don’t give the devil a ridehe will want to drive!”

– Finally, a favorite of many: “Plan aheadit wasn’t raining when Noah built the Ark!”

Each exercise moves you beyond yourself. Get outside of yourself and discover the richness of God’s love for you.
