Messy AND “I -See” conditions!
Rev. Mike Nodland
It’s human nature to fix whatever mess we get into.
The handyman’s motto is: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” no matter what it looks like, sounds like or it’s sparking with burning odor. That means, “Don’t tinker with it or tweak it! Don’t touch it! It’s not pretty, but it runs!”
However, certain qualifying messes demand our immediate, unprofessionally trained eye to correct. Y
ears ago, as sandblaster working the graveyard shift, I was dismissed early due to a raging ice storm; but my car was stuck on ice. Rocking the Pinto back and forth did nothing. So, I put the spinning wheels in reverse gear, opened the driver’s door wide while I jumped behind, rocking the car back and forth.
The idea was that when the car finally hit dry pavement, it would come at me and I would jump into the driver’s seat “safely”-that’s the operate word. Try jumping on ice into a moving vehicle. Don’t do this! Moral: Call for help!
Messier, is sin! We need help. God’s given us “I see” conditions: “I see! Therefore, I repent and believe.” Be saved today! We were broke, but Jesus Christ fixes us!
