Lawn Bloopers!

Pastor Mike Nodland

There’s a side to every one of us that we like to keep hidden; and that’s when we find our stupidity on full display.

Years ago, we bought a house located on a steep hill. Our lawn rivaled Vail, CO’s ski slope; but that didn’t deter me from mowing the grass at an incredibly dangerous angle. Loosing my footing in the wet grass, I toppled down the hill with the mower into the street!

What do you do? You get up and act like that was all planned!

Determined to finish the yardwork, I went to the top of that hill and began watering the plantings, leaning too far over the edgeand it happened again. But this was incredibly disgraceful. My legs swung around ahead of meand then behind meback and forthas I saucered down that slippery hill I’d just watered, right back into the street, mud, me and my hind end gloriously leading the way!

Sometimes, you’ve got to stand up and ask the question: “God, what was that all about?” He’s got to be having lol at our bloopers. Yet, He understands that we have “those days;” but He’s always thereeven when we’re “not all there!”
