This week I’m going to feature another of the old regular entertainers from the Wieting. She is a pianist, singer and accompanist, Dolores Harris. She has contributed a lot of time and talent to this community. One thing I remember and enjoyed were the duets she and Doctor Charles did. They always were in costume and had some type of skit relating to their act. She loves to sing and is good at it.

Dolores also has a son, Troy who is very talented. He has done a lot for the community even though he is located in Davenport now. Troy came to the Wieting 100th anniversary. He sang and acted with Marge Ziskovsky who portrayed Ella Wieting. They were so good together. Thank you to both of you.

During the anniversary program Dolores and her piano student, Josh Grimes did a duet on piano. You could see their enjoyment and love of playing on their faces. What a night to remember.

I have a lot of memories of the Wieting and I enjoy sharing them with you.
