Weeds, weeds and more weeds, they are immerging fast. Last night I tilled up more rows that never germinated. I have talked to a few people that are having the same issue. Poor germination, I think I planted way too early and the seeds sat in the cold ground to long. But I got the fever like everyone else when the warm weather graced us. I need to get the weeding done and the rest of the seeds put in the ground. Then the magic begins and things start to grow, along with the weeds.

Many people ask me how one has a garden without weeds. My reply is it is called muscles and sweat. No, they want a garden without weeds and done with magic. I don’t have an answer for you folks.

Muscle and sweat it does the body good. Some of those weeds are edible. Would you like a salad with sour dock, or maybe some dandelion greens? If you don’t like the dandelion greens there is always dandelion wine. Cook up some lamb’s quarters, purslane, dandelion crowns, and toss with bacon grease. Now that sounds tasty.

Happy gardening,. or should I say weedin.
