Every once in awhile I write a column about my memories of different things that happened at the Wieting, This is a short story about my first encounter with Ella Wieting,

The old guild members were going to do an act during Pam Wood’s February Fling production. The female members of the guild were dressed as the female Mouseketeers of tv fame. Two adult men played Jimmie Dodd and Roy Williams. Those men were Jerry Lewis and Marv Yilek. Jimmie led the group out followed by Roy. Before we went out we were lined up on the north side of the area backstage. We were quiet as mice, when a light bulb dropped from above. There were no light sockets in that area for the bulb to have come, and no one else was backstage but us guild members and 2 men. This was my first encounter with Ella. I have experienced other feelings about her since.

I feel that Ella has been watching over the building all these years. Since the renovation I don’t feel her presence anymore. I feel she knows the building has been put back the way it used to be, or as close as possible.

I will share some other people’s experiences in another column. I won’t say who it happened to since they might not appreciate it.
