Letter to the Editor: Pick up truck crashes into rear of dump truck on Highway 30

Many or most of those fatal and serious injury crashes wouldn’t happen if the speed limit had remained at a “sensible” and enforced rate. Un-expected things happen on the roads and faster speed gives drivers less time to react and/or slow down. If the so-called “PRO-Life” Lawmakers really cared about “LIFE and SAFETY”, they’d demand there be speed enforcement cameras along every road, and even “hidden” to catch the scoffers. There’s an even better system than “cameras”. Google for “intelligent speed adaptation”. Republican lawmakers would blow a fuse if anyone even suggested such a system. Their “time, profits, and schedule” are more important then the lives that get sacrificed to the speed demon.
