The city of Tama is in danger of losing a recreational gem. As our 100+ year-old Paper Mill closed, Cherry Lake no longer has a water supply. The Rec Trail has established a groomed trail all around the lake. The lake section completes our six miles of trails. There are picnic tables and benches all around the lake. Fishing piers dot the shores of the lake. Walkers, joggers, runners, kayakers and bikers use this area daily. Young and old fish along the shores. Wildlife is a common site along the lake area. Our community needs to be heard. Save Cherry Lake. Please contact your city and county officials and let them know that this recreational area needs to be saved.
