Calls for health insurance of overhaul

Letter to the Editor:

Partners Are We

You were a partner that I believed in and could count on. Your gender, culture, and political views were yours. You were loyal, dependable, fair, trustworthy, cost affordable, kind and caring. Now you Demand more money.

You tell me who I can visit and for how long. If hospitalized, you tell me how long I can stay. For rehab. you tell me how many therapy sessions I can have. You give me six perscription drugs, that cost me more than my weekly check of $150.00 from Short Term Disability. You tell me I am scheduled for four return visits to the Doctor that I have to pay. After all of that, you tell me that I have a pre-existing condition and that you wouldn’t pay for. We are partners in a small business on these terms?

The partnership is now broken!

You are now Big business.

You have forgotten you real purpose!

Aren’t you a SERVICE for the people? A SERVICE for all Americans that are in need of health care. A SERVICE that is affordable. A SERVICE that is a choice for who we see and what plan we use. A SERVICE that helps pay for the high costs of prescription medication and health supplies.

NOW-Do I walk away? Accept you as is? Or do we work together to fix what is broken in our relationship?

If I choose to walk away, I become one more of the 46 million uninsured.

If I choose to stay with you AS IS, I accept an abusive relationship that will leave me broken and bankrupt.

If I choose to act now and work together, we can fix the SERVICE by: reducing costs, guarenteeing choice of doctor and health plan, and ensure quality, affordable health care SERVICES for all Americans.

It depends on you. Your involvement is crucial NOW. You can make a difference.
