Chamber of Commerce Projects

To the Community:

May is Volunteer Month and the Tama-Toledo Chamber of Commerce would like to take this opportunity to thank the chamber members and others who volunteer in the community each year.

During the past year the Tama-Toledo Chamber successfully coordinated RAGBRAI’s overnight stay in the community; the annual Farm Business and Home Show; a Car Cruise & Show with over 100 entries last fall; Christmas events, including the Winter Wonderland parade and Santa Breakfast; Annual Crazy Daze; one of the best local Farmers Markets; helped fund the 4th of July Fireworks and this past weekend another successful Lincoln Highway Bridge Festival.

All of these projects are done by a relatively small group of volunteers that own and work in Chamber Businesses. We are also fortunate to be able to coordinate these events with the help of other local volunteer organizations including the Fire and Emergency Departments, Lions Club, Kiwanis, Women’s Clubs, churches and other civic and governmental organizations. Many of these volunteers serve the community in more than one area, and many of them are chamber members also.

As in most communities the number of volunteers is never enough, and there are always more ideas than this small group of people has time. So, if you would like to join us and volunteer your time in any of these activities or organizations please give the chamber office a call.

Our local businesses also contribute monetarily to many charitable organizations in Tama-Toledo, including STC Rec Programs, STC Dollars for Scholars, Boy and Girl Scouts and Campfire Programs, 4-H and youth church groups, the ATV park and South Tama School activities. These groups also operate with volunteers and host other activities and entertainment for the community. Without the communities support of chamber businesses, and in turn their financial support of non profits these additional forms of entertainment would also not be possible.

So a HUGE THANK YOU! to the many volunteers in Tama Toledo, especially those who work on Chamber projects.

And THANK YOU also to those who support Tama-Toledo Chamber Businesses by shopping locally.
