Mr. Herald Chronicle

Reader Mullen wrote to Mr. Herald Chronicle: “How about those stakes that the USDA Office has placed next to Broadway so that people can’t drive through where there once was an entrance? I’d like to know why they felt like they needed to close that off in the first place, and then why they don’t put up a fence or something that’s not such an eye sore.”

Mr. Herald Chronicle found:

Angela Vos, the county executive director for the Farm Service Agency (USDA) said- “The landlord did this for liability reasons. People were driving through at a high rate of speed (which was) dangerous. He plans to have someone put a split-rail type fence.”

Vos pointed out USDA only rents the building.
