It has been a challenge for the Wieting Theatre Guild these past 19 months with the derecho and COVID-19.

Safety of our volunteers and patrons has been our continued concern. At this time movies are only shown on Friday and Sunday evenings to small crowds with masks recommended and the theatre sanitized after an event.

This venue is indeed a treasure to our area. There is nothing like experiencing the power of live audiences to unite our communities. Currently our STC Drama Department is staging an outstanding musical which will be presented to our community in November as well as audiences at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center on the campus of UNI.

For a successful production, there are many people in the background supporting these talented performers as well. The theatre provides valuable experiences for entertainment and personal growth if you choose to get involved as a Guild member, volunteer, audience member or performer.

Through the generosity of state and federal funding sources, we have been able to pay our ongoing operating costs. The State Bank of Toledo has been very supportive through both phases of our renovation, and we currently have $600,000 remaining on our construction loan.
