It is a very sad state of affairs when a person dies without knowing the meaning of life. God tells us in the Bible that the meaning of life is not found in being rich and spending money; owning cars and houses, and having every possession that you want.

The meaning of life is not found in earthly sensual pleasures or sports activities. The meaning of life is not even found in sharing this life with the people that you love and who love you, as important as that is.

The meaning of life is found in coming to know, and love, and serve, the true and living God. In finding Him you will find real joy and true happiness.

God created you for His good pleasure, and when you do not receive that truth, you live your life to yourself. God created you an eternal being with a soul which will live forever.

Death came into the world through the first man Adam’s sin. God told him not to eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam ate of this fruit and since then, every person born into the world (with the exception of Jesus Christ) has a sinful nature.

This is also why we are spiritually blind by nature. We do not want to do things God’s way or believe what He has said in the Bible. By nature, we do not receive the things of the Spirit of God directing us to do what is right.

And because we confirm Adam’s sin by our own sins, we deserve to be punished by God because He tells us in the Bible that He is the righteous judge of all of our actions, and how we live our life. Sin is the breaking of God’s holy law summarized in the Ten Commandments. The summary of what God expects you to do is this – You shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart, and love your neighbor as yourself. When you die someday, you will stand before God the righteous judge, and give an account of how you lived your life.

God knows that you will not pass that test on your own. Hell and God’s wrath are something to flee from.

It is because God loves fallen sinners that He sent His Only-begotten Son into the world – Our Lord Jesus Christ.

He of all men is perfect and sinless.

He alone has obeyed God’s law perfectly.

He alone could die on a cross to pay the punishment for your sins.

He has been raised from the dead as proof that God has accepted His work on your behalf.

Believe in Him and you will be forgiven and changed in your heart so that you will love to do His will. When you believe in Jesus you will find the meaning of life.
