Timothy “Tim” Callahan
TAMA-Timothy John “Tim” Callahan, 68, of Tama, passed away March 31, 2026 at his home under the care of Hospice Compassus. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2026 from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home. The family would like to invite anyone to wear Harley Davidson attire if they wish.
Timothy was born on February 21, 1958, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Rondal and Delight (Plowman) Callahan.
Tim graduated from South Tama High School in 1976, and then attended trade school.
Tim married Kathy Croskey and together they had two children, Kristi and Brandon before divorcing. He then married Patty Wrage Kvidera and they later divorced.
Tim worked at the Tama Paper Mill as a machinist for twenty years, and had a few other jobs before retiring from Emerson in Marshalltown as an Electrical Supervisor. Tim was a member of ABATE. It was not unusual to see Tim have a tool in hand, whether it be a wrench for working on his cars or a hammer for building something with 60’s music playing in the background. Otherwise, you could find him on his Harley Davidson and in his spare time he loved fishing, coon hunting and deer hunting with his grandkids. Tim was a huge fan of The Three Stooges, Andrew Dice Clay, and old Westerns. You could always catch him imitating or repeating a quote from them.
Survivors include his children, Kristi (Robert) Bolen of Conrad, and Brandon (Tashina) Callahan of Adel; grandchildren, Hannah Callahan, Marshal Callahan, Tristan Simmons, Landon Anderson, Kurt, Kris, and Kyra Kvidera, Lincoln and Lillian Harford; great granddaughter, Layla Jimenez; sister, Debbie (Jeff) Roberts of Tama; brother-in-law, Dan Malcomson of Newton; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Maria and her son, Matthew.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Michael Callahan, and Richard at birth; and sister, Rita Malcomson.
A memorial fund will be established.
