Darlene Wright

Darlene Wright, 73, formerly of Tama, Iowa, and most recently of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on March 9, 2026.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Frentress Lake Marina in East Dubuque, Illinois.

Darlene was born on July 22, 1952, in Iowa, the daughter of Eldon and Mable (Holan) Neitzel. Darlene taught sixth grade for many years in Petersburg, Iowa. She enjoyed gardening, had a love for animals and enjoyed taking long walks.

She is survived by her son, Anthony (Samantha) Wright; her former husband, Larry Wright; her brother, David Neitzel, of Tama, Iowa; and her sister, Diane (Dennis) Schumacher, of Nebraska. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and Mable Holan Neitzel; her sister, Mary Ann Neitzel; sister-in-law, Judy Neitzel and nephews, Douglas Neitzel, Brian Neitzel and Timothy Schumacher.
