Barry Corder

TOLEDO-Barry James Corder, 55, of Toledo, passed away, Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at his home due to a sudden illness. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, December 29, 2025 from 4-7 PM at the Tama-Toledo Country Club. You are welcome to wear your favorite Iowa Hawkeye attire.

Barry was born on November 16, 1970, in Ottumwa, Iowa.

In 1989, he graduated from Muscatine High School and attended Muscatine Community College.

Barry was employed as a yardman at the Tama Sale Barn and a bartender at the Tama-Toledo Country Club. Prior to that, he was a salesman in the construction industry.

Barry was an Eagle Scout. He formerly coached his children at the Recreation Department in Muscatine. He enjoyed golfing and loved the Iowa Hawkeyes, mostly football. His greatest joy was any activity involving his children and spending time with their families.

Survivors include his three children, Maddison Greer of Hiawatha, Amberlin Corder (Cole Moore) of Palmetto, FL, and Jace Corder of Muscatine; his granddaughter, Emma Gorden; all of his kids’ pets were also considered his grandchildren; his mother, Bette Scheid of Toledo; sisters, Mona (Brian) Scott of Muscatine, and Mandy (Jason) Lekin of Toledo; brother, Wes Scheid of New Orleans, LA; niece, Taylor Lekin; nephew, Lane Lekin; and several other relatives.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Ronald and Elaine Corder.
