Mary Lamb

Mary R Lamb, 79, of Fond du Lac, died at home in hospice care, on Monday, November 11, 2024, surrounded by nieces, friends and home caregivers.

She was born on February 19, 1945, in Oshkosh, WI, the daughter of Edward and Laura Koepke. She grew up in Eldorado and was a graduate of Rosendale High School, Class of 1963. On February 17, 1971, she married Jon Lamb, in Wheaton IL. He preceded her in death on March 13, 1992.

Mary was a Delta Stewardess for 15 years. Jon and Mary moved to Chelsea, Iowa, where Jon farmed part-time and continued flying as a Captain for Delta Airlines. Mary moved back to Fond du Lac WI in 2005 to be closer to family and friends. Mary spent many winters with her sister Barb in Tucson where they shared a love of southwest art and exploring Arizona. She enjoyed hosting card games and had a love of gardening vegetables and flowers. Mary was a loyal Packer fan, loved sports in general, and was an avid summer and winter Olympics follower.

Mary had so many outings with her best friend Sherry Zickert who was her constant, treasured and trusted friend and companion. Mary is remembered for her resiliency, her ability to live her life fully, and her generous spirit.

Mary’s family would like to thank the SSM Hospice organization for the amazing care and compassion provided to her and the family. We also want to thank her home caregivers, who became family to Mary. Mary loved them as much as they loved her.

VISITATION: The family will greet friends and relatives from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Kurki Funeral Chapel, 31 E Division St, Fond du Lac, WI.

SERVICE: No funeral services will be held at Mary’s request. Mary will be buried next to her husband in Chelsea, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the SSM Hospice Organization in Fond du Lac WI would be appreciated.
