Dale Posusta

TRAER-Dale William Posusta, 69, of Traer, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024 at his home due to a sudden illness. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the United Presbyterian Church in Traer with Pastor Brice Hoyt officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 10-11 AM prior to the service at the church.

Dale was born on March 30, 1954, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of William “Bill” and Arlene (Bohnstengel) Posusta.

He graduated from North Tama High School in 1972 and attended Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo where he studied Ag mechanics.

On August 5, 1978, he was united in marriage to Ronda Langenbau at the United Methodist Church in Garwin. Dale was a lifetime farm boy. When he was little, he would follow his dad around everywhere. He farmed southwest of Traer and in 1978 he went into full partnership with his dad, raising row crops, pigs, cows and sheep. Dale also did custom hay bailing. Prior to farming, he worked at AWE in high school and full time as a mechanic at Ray Holst John Deere Implement, both located in Traer.

Dale was the first President of the Tama County Soybean Association. He received first place high yield award for his corn from Dekalb Seed. Dale loved spending time with family at Holiday Lake. He loved fishing and mostly practiced catch and release. Dale also loved having people at the lake for the 4th of July. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Survivors include his wife, Ronda of Traer; his mother, Arlene Posusta of Traer; two sons, Lee (Emily) Posusta of Pound, WI and Wade (Becky) Posusta of Toledo; six grandchildren, Orion, Hunter, Joel, Levi and Faythe Posusta and Tyler Posusta; two sisters, Judy (Wayne) Parizek of Belle Plaine and Joyce (Rick) Seward of Ord, NE; father-in-law, Orlyn (Doris) Langenbau of Marshalltown; sister-in-law, Sheryl (Jeff) Goos of Tama; brother-in-law, Brett Langenbau of Arp, TX; several nieces and nephews; and his girls, the Miniature Schnauzer’s.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill; and mother-in-law, Marveta Langenbau.

Memorial funds may be directed to Oconto River Kids in Mountain, WI for kids with disabilities.

Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
